The following is a list of the largest cities, districts and boroughs in the UK in order of their unemployment rate. Glasgow, Britain’s third city, has the highest unemployment rate in the country. Figures are from the estimate of the number of people who are not in work in mid-2014. Figures were obtained from local government websites.

  3.  Neath-Port Talbot County Borough – 9.20%
  4.  Swansea City – 9.00%
  5.  Belfast City – 8.40%
  6.  Londonderry City – 8.20%
  7.  Leeds City – 8.00%
  8.  Birmingham City – 7.00%
  9.  Kingston-upon-Hull City – 6.94%
  10.  Edinburgh City – 6.70%
  11.  Bradford City – 5.15%
  12.  Sheffield City – 4.90%
